1. Contestants will play two songs, a waltz and a fast tune such as polka or reel.
Contestants should be prepared with a play-off tune.
2. Only AMATUERS are allowed to participate in the contest.
3. Trick or fancy fiddling will disqualify a contestant. Examples include: holding the fiddle
in an abnormal position (except holding the fiddle under the ribs which is acceptable);
plucking the strings unless the tune is written to include plucking; over-embellishment of
a piece. Tunes not allowed include "Orange Blossom Special", "Boil the Cabbage Down"
and "Black Mountain Rag".
4. The accompanist is not allowed to play the melody and must play a non-bowed instrument.
5. The contestant from each category who scores the highest total points from the three
judges will compete in the Open Division.

There will be a Jam Session following the contest. Everyone is welcome to participate.
Divisions:
Small Fry (age 9 and under)
Junior A (ages 10-13)
Junior B (ages 14-17)
Intermediate (ages 18-35)
Adult (age 36 and over)
Prizes
Ribbons will be awarded along with cash prizes for first, second and third place for each division. In the case of an unbreakable tie, the prize money will be shared equally.
