Volunteers are always helping with restoration of the Terrace
Mill Historic District. In 2005, during the hot summer days,
Donna Sandmeyer and Richard Grella decided to fill in the
cracks between the logs. The old chinking had become easy
to scrape away with your fingers. Light and ventilation was
falling through the cracks between the logs. Rather than the
old recipe of cow manure and straw, a mortar mix was used.
